Tonight wasn't just your average pummeling. It was so much more than that. This team didn't have to win tonight. They have a nice cushy lead in the division. They're playing really well these days and there's certainly no shame in losing a road game started by Chris Capuano when he puts you in a 5-0 hole before the first inning is even over. But not a moment later, before you could even blink this team came right back and took a 6-5 lead the very next inning before they even recorded an out. And of course it didn't stop there. It was hit after hit and run after run. It was merciless. And lets not forget my fucking man Diego Moreno coming back after the 11-run inning to go 1-2-3 in the bottom of the second. He took an opportunity tonight and grabbed it by the balls. 5.1 scoreless innings for the win after just getting the call up this morning.
When a team has a special year in any sport there are always a handful of games you can look back on as turning points in the season. For the 2015 Yankees, two of those moments might have just happened in the last four days. A-Rod's three homer game on Saturday was one of the most memorable games I had ever seen and tonight just topped that. I'm not saying the Yankees are the team to beat in baseball but I'm not not saying it.
